What Is BricksStreet?
BricksStreet publishes guides and free calculators for people building or repairing a home in India: homeowners planning their first build, and contractors and site engineers who need a quick, reliable reference.
We focus on the questions that come up on Indian sites: how many bricks or cement bags to order, which cement to use where, how long to cure, and what materials cost. We follow Indian standards (IS codes) and Indian units such as sq ft, cft and brass.
From the Kiln
Because we make bricks ourselves, many guides on this site use what we measure and test at our own kiln: brick sizes, hole sizes, strength and water absorption. Where an article uses BricksStreet's own product figures, it says so, and you should ask any supplier for the same figures in writing.
Why We Built This
The construction industry is full of misinformation — salespeople pushing products, outdated specifications, and guides written by people who have never set foot on a construction site. Naresh started BricksStreet to fix that: practical, honest, data-driven content from someone who has actually used these materials on real projects.

Our Editorial Standards
Quantities and formulas are shown with the working, so you can check them yourself. Where we give a price, we say where and when it was checked. Prices change from city to city and month to month, so treat them as a guide and confirm with your local dealer.
We are revising our older articles to correct errors and remove generic content. When an article is revised, the "Updated" date at the top changes. If you spot a mistake, please tell us and we will fix it.
These guides are general information. For structural design, follow your structural engineer.
